Veronica Abrams comes to Prince William
County from Fairfax County Public Schools where she worked since 1984.
She spent the first 13 years as a department chair for Work and Family
Studies at Lanier Middle School in Fairfax, Virginia, and at Lake
Braddock Secondary in Burke, Virginia. In 1998, she was promoted
to assistant principal at Whitman Middle School in Alexandria, Virginia
and later served in the same capacity at Hughes Middle School in Reston,
Virginia. In 2004, she assumed the role of Director of Student
Services at Hughes.
Ms. Abrams began her career as a home economics teacher in Campbell
County Public Schools, in Rustburg, Virginia. She later taught at
Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia, in Charlotte Mecklenburg Public
Schools in Charlotte, North Carolina, and in Atlanta Public Schools in
Atlanta, Georgia.
Ms. Abrams received her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Ecology from
Virginia State University in 1973. In 1975, she received her
Master of Education degree from the same university. She has
studied at various universities to pursue interests on the advanced
level and earned endorsements Home Economics Education, Secondary School
Principal, Middle School Principal, Secondary School Supervisor and
pre-kindergarten through twelfth-grade Administration and Supervision.
